8th Grade Homeschool Curriculum

8th Grade (ages 13–14) · 68 structured lessons across 5 subjects, plus adaptive daily practice

Eighth grade is the bridge to high school: linear functions, systems of equations, exponents, and the Pythagorean theorem — the complete on-ramp to Algebra I. Readers finish the K-8 sequence with full literary and rhetorical analysis. Science goes deep on physical science: forces, energy, chemistry, and waves.

What Comes After 8th Grade

Students who finish the 8th grade sequence early can continue straight into our high-school math: a full Algebra I course (22 lessons) and a full Geometry course (39 lessons) are live today, with Algebra II underway (3 lessons so far). A college-prep high-school science track in a deep-reading lecture format is also live — all six courses (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy, Ecology, and Environmental Science; 171 units total). Honest about what it is: rigorous self-paced reading courses, not AP and not lab credit.

Beyond the lessons listed here, every child also gets adaptive daily practice across individually tracked skills with spaced-repetition review, placement testing, and mastery-based progression — so your 8th Grade child works at their actual level, not just their grade label.
